price adjustments

if you know me, i'm a stickler for finding good deals. usually when i have my eye on something, i go on the internet and hunt down the best deals. and usually i'll check slickdeals.net and use google's product search to find good deals.

after buying my camera, i kinda felt like i coulda found it for a better price somewhere other than best buy. but, i had to get it from best buy because i got an sssss-load of gift cards that can in very handy. so yesterday i went back to best buy with a stack of 2 competitors online ads, a bestbuy.com ad, and a rewards zone coupon to see if i could wrestle my purchase price down.

i gave the first ad to the best buy customer service rep., the ad was an online deal from a local retailer, ace photo. previously in the day i called ace photo to see if they would honor their online price, strike 1, they didnt have the camera in stock. Strike 2, they work with amazon to run their online store, so it's not really their store. now, i knew i shouldn't have tried to get that price adjustment cause i knew that best buy had to call ace photo to make sure that the camera was in stock and that they were selling it for that price. but i had to test best buy, because sometimes you get a cool manager that doesnt bother to call and takes your word for it, though that's only happened once in my life. so he calls, out of stock, and no dice.

all good, i bust out my rewards zone coupon and ask the rep if i can use it, even though i purchased the camera almost a week and a half ago. i felt that this coupon wasnt going to fly since it had been awhile since the purchase. but i guess when he looked at my stack up papers and saw that i had two more ads to go, he went ahead and punched a few buttons and bam! $80.50 back to me! woot woot!

moral of the story, always look out for coupons and deals, even after you've bought whatever it is.

ps say hello to my murse.

nikon ftw!

i recently got a hold of a Nikon D60 dslr. so far i've been very happy with it. i've been taking quality pictures though i do see that i need much improvement. before the purchase i was researching dslr's very heavily and was set on the D40, an entry-level dslr but takes awesome pics. at the last minute choose the D60 because of it's shutter speed and superior lens. since the purchase i've gone back and cross compared the nikon between other brands like olypmus, canon, and sony. Just to make sure that i totally made the right purchase. Through researching mags and the net, it seems like there are alot of Nikon haters out there. But as much as the reviewers try to hate on NIkons, saying that they don't have enough features, its size is too small for the hands, its price might be too pricey, blah blah blah. the Nikon always has taken the win because it's easy to use and it's picture quality. So now i feel more and more comfortable that i made the right purchase and with the lastest photo spazze that i had this weekend, i've fell even more in love with it.

as you can see i still have alot to learn. but damn these look good for a beginner. maybe the subjects also have something to do with it!

can't stop, won't stop...

since the beginning of the month it's been non-stop action, excitement and everything else.

(080208) it all started with the wedding...

the reception...

then the pool party/bbq/after wedding get together...

with the RicFam, check out the white ass

the week after the wedding we both had family still in town so we showed them around richmond/virginia beach/and DC. we ate bushels full of crabs, drank kegs full of adult bevs and hardly slept.

it was BJ's b-day on 080408 so while at the beach with fam we accidentally came across a bar on the pier and celebrated accordingly by getting BJ 9 shots in 15 minutes!

even this random lady got in the mix!

then we proceeded to the carnival and tried to get BJ to throw up on the spinning monkeys, but mark mooned the crowd and the owner of the park kicked them out!

(080808)Ape's b-day was squeezed there too, with a last minute dinner at cafe asia...

a couple days after that it was off to the honeymoon...

view from our room

not dark yet!

after a boat ride to a secluded spot for a show and dinner.

and a little over 24hrs after we got back into town!

hello Noah Antonio Muñoz!

and in a few more hours we'll welcome baby Gines...

so since we've gotten back from the honeymoon it seems like we haven't gotten a chance to settle back in. but it's ok cause family is more important to us than anything else. we're soo blessed to have all these wonderful things happen to us and around us.
