how i met your mother

so during work usually to make time go a bit faster and to make it bearable to be here. i like to keep a stream of live radio going like the Junkies or Big O and Dukes on WJFK. or i'll have my podcast ready to go like The Daily Feed, SmashTime Radio w/ Clinton Sparks, Hawaii Surf Sessions Report...etc. and there's always my itunes on party shuffle for backup.

This week after thinking about a How I Met Your Mother episode i decided to watch a few that i've missed. the show is freakin hilarious. they're around their late twenties doing alot of first, first house, getting married, wanting to settle down, first real job, just getting out of school, struggling at the j o b. Each character has their own thing going on , so you can relate to one or two of them. but the basis of the show it that the main character narrates to his kids about how he met their mother, but also the steps it took before hand to find her. We still don't know who the mother is, but we know that Aunt Robin and him were very close.

I've gotta say they are damn close to being as good as Friends. well maybe a friends replacement. So i've hopped on sidereel.com and lol'ed silently at work and covered the browsing box with other ps and ai boxes to hide what they think might be a distraction. butt actually it keeps like going. doggie howser is on the show playing the lady's man and comes up with all these funny one liners. Many times he comes up with rules about relationships that often seem to make sense like "the platinum rule."

anyways the lingo is always fresh and their styles are up to date. i would use their jokes more often in my everyday talk but "general lee" *salute* not enough people watch the show for them to know what i'm talking about. ok that's about it for now.

Suit Up! and watch an episode or two.

weekend rap

friday
went to elaine's for their family fun night,
some much food over there, it was soo tight.
there was salad, fruits, and we made 7 layer dip,
elaine even made some tempura veggies and shrimp. (make that rhyme)

saturday
went to the mall, all i can say is that place was packed.
went to the apple store and copped an iMac.
after that we went out for some go kartin'
i was drivin so fast like my name was mark martin.
fadul, erwin and mishy all came through.
but i was faster than all of them poo poos.
got some grub at cheeburger cheeburger, yum-o son.
the boys ate up the 1/2 pounder the serious.
and the shakes are soo good that it's soo mysterious.

sunday
spent the morning making pot roast.
then i ended feeling sick like i was gonna be toast.
but check it the roast was soo good,

the pwerbook

the powerbook was every designers dream. the death of their powerbook is every designers nightmare. this is my powerbook (purchased 2003) on it's death bed getting last minute surgery, transferring files to my external hard drive. as you can see the monitor does not stand up on it's own. luckily on this day the displayed decided to work instead of just turn red, blue, green. so right now my monitor is being propped up by one of ape's books and a candy container. hopefully the apple store fairy will deliver me a treat this weekend.

breaking last weekends news...

went to sonoma last friday for restaurant week in dc. the food was amazing and the wine just kept pouring and pouring. for starters i had the oysters rockerfeller ya'll. and that was good but i was expecting more. soo much more that i told ape i would save her one but i "accidentally" ate them all. for my entree i selected the ny strip since everyone was raving about it. not to my surprise it was off the hook. it was perfectly medium, crispy on the outside and perfectly juicy on the inside. the sauce they serve up with it is yum-o and the sides were delish. ok all rachel ray sayings aside haha. check out some pics. o for dessert i had "two girls and one cup" coffee ice cream with pistachio nuts. that was good too. we also had 3 bottles of red wine and a couple beers at Capitol Lounge before the dinner. The company was great too: Kuya, Arl, Paul, Muriel, Eric, Gene, Nate, and Judie came along and we all had a great time.

Joe Gibbs has left the building

I'm kinda sad to see it after the season we just had. But it is time that he goes. He was too unwilling to open the play book, not going for the kill, and behind the times. Peace Joe Gibbsm Nascar you can have him back to rule with his Toyota crew.

I've found her!

I hope she finds a good home.

She looks soo neglected and beat up. I hope some one takes care of her. I have her VIN and CARFAX so i'll be able to track her in the future. But man, my new whip is such an upgrade and i'm glad i did it. I didn't miss my SI much but when I finally saw her up for sale I could have cried. Good luck buddy it nice knowing you. happy revvving....

bad wegman's

Went to Wegman's on new year's day. Unfortunately we didn't get the memo that the world is coming to an end. Produce was at slim pickings, the meat prices were sky-high and pasta section as sparse. This was the worst I had ever seen Wegman's. Shelves were seriously bare and what was left was not up to Wegman's par. It was kinda sad to see it look like a regular grocery store. The employees said that their trucks didn't come in that day. Even though that was the case I was still upset and I don't think I'll be back for awhile. The Giant in our area has way better prices on packaged meat and a better selection. So I give the nod to them. But of course when I want a good ribeye from the butcher I'll come back to Wegman's. Never Safeway though, is it me or does their meat have a funk to it? The past few times that I've cooked their beef theres been a weird odor and taste to their meat. Plus the Safeway in our area has the longest lines ever.

ok enough about grocery stores.
